Burgeis (it.: Burgusio), at 1,216m above sea level, is located below Watles (2557m) at the upper reaches of the river Etsch and has 828 inhabitants.
You can get to Burgeis coming from the north over the Reschen Pass or also over the Brenner Pass, from Switzerland over the Ofen Pass and Müstair. The nearest airports are Innsbruck or Bozen, the nearest railway station is Mals.
