A HOTEL WITH A HISTORY

In “Zum Mohren & Plavina” you are in a hotel with a fine history! Old documents prove its origins date back to the 15th century. In 1665, the hotel (more a lodging house then), offering accommodation to travellers coming over the Reschen Pass, was taken over by the family Theiner and the name “Mohr” was added. A typical naming for that time derived from the 3 Christian Kings from the Orient who, over many centuries, have been regarded as the patron saints of travellers.

At that time, the inn already had its own farm. In the winter of 1836, our hotel was spared miraculously from a mighty avalanche. This event is remembered by a small chapel, known as a “Bildstöckl”, in front of our hotel.

In recent decades, we have carried out several successful conversions. In 1979, the hotel Plavina joined us, the farm was moved to the outskirts of the village and a small art collection was started.

In this connection, it has been our ambition to preserve tradition and integrate it into a Aktivhotel with modern luxury. Pay us a visit and simply convince yourselves of this!
